Course content

What will you study on MSc Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems?

During this course you will study the importance of transport to the national and global economy and therefore the need for Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS). You will explore the mechanisms to build and deploy C-ITS including mobile communications and vehicular networks. You will also investigate how data from the vehicular network is stored and processed using Cloud systems and how applications and services are implemented to provide better traffic congestion algorithms using machine learning and AI techniques.

Teaching

How is the MSc Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems taught?

All taught modules will have weekly lectures as well as seminars and labs. You will examine current trends and latest developments in C-ITS and be taught practical skills. There will also be visits to key transport companies and local authorities such as Transport for London (TfL).

Qualifications required:

  • Domestic entry requirements: Students should have a 2:2 honours degree or above in computer science, science or engineering, or an equivalent overseas qualification. Candidates without a relevant degree but with extensive experience in the computer networking or transport systems would also be considered.
  • International entry requirements: Students should have a 2:2 honours degree or above in computer science, science or engineering, or an equivalent overseas qualification. Candidates without a relevant degree but with extensive experience in the computer networking or transport systems would also be considered.Students must have competence in English language to study with us. The most commonly accepted evidence of English language ability is IELTS 6.5 (with minimum 6.0 in all components).
