**Why study this course?**

Our Business Information Technology (including foundation year) BSc (Hons) degree has a built-in foundation year, designed to teach you the core principles of computing. This preparatory year will give you the skills and experience needed to complete the following three years of your course.

You’ll learn to critically evaluate the role of computer-based systems in business as well as the basic fundamentals of computing. This career focused course is accredited by the British Computer Society, you’ll graduate fully prepared to enter the ever-expanding IT industry.

This four-year degree starts with a foundation year to help you develop an understanding of computing and information systems. This course offers a structured pathway for those that don’t have the traditional qualifications needed to start a standard three-year undergraduate degree.

You’ll be supported by our dedicated staff who will help you discover your academic strengths and build your confidence. As you progress through the course you’ll acquire skills in cloud security, database development, computer hardware, ethical hacking and digital crime investigation.

The foundation year on this course is shared with a number of other business and IT-related foundation year degrees, so in Year 0 you’ll get to study alongside other students interested in a variety of specialisms.

You’ll graduate with a full undergraduate degree with the same title and award as those who have studied our three-year Business Information Technology BSc (Hons) degree.
