Course Introduction

Grow your knowledge of the built environment and update your skills to meet the demands of the modern construction industry with a Master?s in Construction Project Management.

Our MSc Construction Project Management will teach you how to match design and production to the needs of the market for built space - an issue at the very core of the construction and property industries. You'll learn how to plan and control the allocation of resources and respond creatively to volatile economic conditions. Specific modules cover topics such as development economics and planning, applied project management, risk management, building integrated systems and technologies.

Graduates of this Construction Project Management course will have a host of career options, including project management roles with property developers, construction contractors, local and central government, and regeneration agencies.

Teaching</u>

In a typical week, you will have lectures, seminars, and workshops which may include critiques to discuss your work with colleagues and tutors. Visiting lecturers will also be made available in each term for specialist lectures, workshops and tutorials. Theory courses will be taught alongside other master's programmes to encourage subject crossover and multidisciplinary views.

Contact hours may fall between 9am and 9pm, depending on your elective courses and tutorials.

Assessment</u>

Your assessment will include coursework, portfolio submission, presentations, reports and examinations. Each module has formal assessments which count towards your grade. Some module may also include practice assessments, which help you monitor progress and do not count towards your final grade.

In each case you will be provided with feedback to help you monitor progress and improve your performance.

Qualifications Required

  • Domestic entry requirements: You should have a 2:2 honours degree or an equivalent qualification in a built environment discipline such as civil engineering, construction, surveying or architecture. We will consider undergraduate degrees in other disciplines on an individual basis.
  • International entry requirements: You should have a 2:2 honours degree or an equivalent qualification in a built environment discipline such as civil engineering, construction, surveying or architecture. We will consider undergraduate degrees in other disciplines on an individual basis. IELTS 6.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component.
