Brunel’s chemical engineering courses are pioneering programmes have been designed in close collaboration with the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) accreditation body to prepare you for an exciting and rewarding career in one of the fastest growing engineering disciplines.
In your first two years, you will gain a solid knowledge and understanding of key disciplines in chemical engineering. You'll learn how to design, evaluate, scale-up and develop technology solutions for a variety of traditional and emerging industries.
Later on, core topics such as process design, process control and sustainability are complemented by modern subjects. These include big data analytics, industrial internet of things and cybersecurity.
Hands-on and transferable skills, highly sought after by employers, are gained through the newly introduced engineering toolbox modules. Your progress will be assessed through combination of exams and assignments in your first two years. In your third and fourth years, assessment is assignment-based only.
