Course Introduction

Many engineering companies to date operate on a global business platform, and many are constantly driven by new initiatives such as new products, projects or services to sustain their business growth. Thus, engineering graduates who are equipped with both technical and management skill sets are particularly sought after. This course, accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), provides an excellent opportunity to improve your current technical portfolio with a spectrum of engineering operations and project management skills. As a result, you will enhance your employment prospects and your ability to apply for senior engineering management roles.

The course is designed to complement your engineering degree with a rich spectrum of engineering and project management skills. Throughout the course you will have many hands-on sessions to practise what you have learned in the classroom. These practical skills will be obtained through using specialist software in operation management, quality analysis, business decision modelling, supply chain management and resources simulation. Assessment: Coursework, software session reports, group presentation, research project.

Qualifications required:

  • Domestic entry requirements: Students need to have a good honours degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline, and/or suitable industrial experience.
  • International entry requirements: Students need to have a good honours degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline, and/or suitable industrial experience. Students need to have an IELTS of 6.5 overall with 6.0 in Writing and 5.5 in Reading, Listening and Speaking.
