Birkbeck, University of London

Course Introduction

Corporate governance and business ethics are areas of rapidly growing importance in which Birkbeck has a pre-eminent research position. Our programmes are designed for those wishing to better understand the complex and dynamic relationships between organisations and their stakeholders. This programme provides a critical, research-based understanding of key issues in corporate governance and ethics. It is relevant to directors and non-executive board members, managers, consultants and those interested in governance, corporate social responsibility and ethics in the private, public and voluntary sectors.

Assessment is an integral part of your university studies and usually consists of a combination of coursework and examinations, although this will vary from course to course - on some of our courses, assessment is entirely by coursework.

Graduates can pursue careers in local and national government, business and industry. Possible professions include management consultant, human resources officer, or marketing executive. This degree can also be useful in becoming a Civil Service fast streamer, retail manager, or sales executive.
