Course Introduction

This programme equips you for a career in sport, exercise and clinical biomechanics. You will gain in-depth knowledge into how theoretical biomechanics can be applied to the understanding and development of movement for sport, exercise and clinical applications. Our MSc in Biomechanics will enable you to support the physical development and health of sportspeople engaged in intensive training and exercise. This programme critically examines the theoretical basis of methods of assessment and the practical application of data within biomechanics. It offers you a means of studying biomechanics from a discipline-specific standpoint. You will be taught by staff who are committed to pursue excellence in the field of sport, exercise and health sciences and have achieved a high level of expertise within their profession. Graduates are equipped with the necessary skills to work as sports and exercise physiologists, sports coaches and therapists in the health sector at sports clubs, sporting associations, governing bodies and other related agencies. Students can also exit with PGDip award.

  • Domestic entry requirements: Students should usually hold a second-class honours degree (certain programmes may require a 2:1) from a recognised British or overseas university.
