Course Introduction

This master?s programme builds on the strengths of the Queen Mary University School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science. This programme aims to provide the curriculum to develop appropriate programme level learning outcomes supporting the development of graduate engineers to postgraduate level. The programme aims to enable students to acquire the essential knowledge, skills, competency, and engineering awareness necessary for a successful career in many electronics based industries.

The programme aims to: develop your expertise in applying scientific knowledge, mathematics and ingenuity to find solutions for technical, societal and commercial problems; emphasise analogue and digital circuit design, power electronics and electrical systems, control and microwave and millimetrewave technologies; areas with a major skills shortage worldwide and particularly in the UK; develop your skills so that you can design systems while considering the limitations imposed by practicality, regulation, safety and cost. Modules are assessed through a combination of coursework and written examinations. You will also be assessed through an individual project.

Qualifications required:

  • Domestic entry requirements: Applicants with an upper second class degree is normally required, usually in electronic engineering, computer science, maths or a related discipline. Students with a good lower second class degree may be considered on an individual basis. Applicants with unrelated degrees will be considered if there is evidence of equivalent industrial experience.
  • International entry requirements: International students require English language qualifications IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 92 (internet based).
