Course Introduction

This flexible post graduate programme has been designed for experienced health and care professionals who aim to develop their academic and clinical practice to an advanced level. You will benefit from a course designed to incorporate a multidisciplinary perspective necessary for leading in today?s global health care systems. This programme offers staged awards. You must successfully complete the Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) to be admitted to the Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip). Successful completion of PGDip allows admission to the full Master?s (MSc) qualification. There are five specialist pathways are available within this programme: Critical Care - Prevention and Rehabilitation in Long Term and Chronic Conditions - Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation - Neurological Rehabilitation - Occupational Therapy.

The course will provide post-registration academic pathways for the development of clinicians, and academics working in a variety of health care settings. Following successful completion of the programme, you will be prepared for a leadership role in developing and improving the care and experience of service users, along with improving service provision across the range of health and care settings.

The course will prepare you for leadership roles as an advanced practitioner in your relevant clinical profession (e.g., nursing, occupational therapy, or physiotherapy); Advanced clinical practitioners can move into a variety of senior positions within the healthcare setting; Senior positions as advanced clinical practitioners in the health professions in a variety of health care settings.

Qualifications required:

  • Domestic entry requirements: All applicants must have a pre-registration degree in a relevant health profession with at least 1 year of clinical work experience. Staged study: Applicants must have successfully completed the PGCert to be admitted to the PGDip. Applicants must have successfully completed the PGDip to be admitted to the MSc.
