Course Introduction

The Entrepreneurship MSc is designed for students who intend to start and run high-impact, innovative businesses. UCL's networks provide access to London's thriving entrepreneurship scene, a possible founding team and investor finance for a new business. Students learn the necessary skills to build and scale a successful business. This includes how to develop ideas, build prototypes, and understand what customers truly want. Students learn about finance/funding, marketing, team building and all the key issues facing rapidly scaling enterprises. The focus of the teaching and student experience is around hands-on learning and entrepreneurial activity. Entrepreneurship MSc students have access to world-class technical expertise and resources within a structured framework of support and formal business education, backed up with strong links to UCL Innovation and Enterprise. The school offers unique research and education programmes with a focus on entrepreneurship, management, innovation, and operations research. Former Entrepreneurship MSc students have gone on to create a diverse range of start-up companies such as Double Dutch Drinks.

Qualifications required:

  • Domestic entry requirements: Students need to have a minimum of an upper second-class Bachelor's degree from a UK university or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard. Together with the academic requirements, applicants normally must have a demonstrable interest in pursuing an entrepreneurial venture or career and must have undertaken entrepreneurial activities, and not simply aspire to entrepreneurship. Applicants must ideally have in excess of two years' work experience.
  • International entry requirements: Students need to have: IELTS overall grade of 7.0 with a minimum of 6.5 in each of the subtests; overall score of 100 with 24/30 in reading and writing and 20/30 in speaking and listening in Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL) iBT; overall score of 185 with 176 in all subtests in Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English; overall score of 185 with 176 in all subtests in Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English; pass at Mastery level when achieved with a pass at Mastery level in the Pitman International Spoken test (ISESOL) in City & Guilds (Pitman Examination in International ESOL); 69 overall, with a minimum of 59 in each Communicative Skill in Pearson Test of English (Academic); successful completion of ISE III with a ?merit? in all components; overall mark of 70%, with at least 65% in each of the four subtests in UCL Diploma in English for Academic Purposes; overall mark of 70% with at least 65% in each of the four elements of the examination in UCL International Pre-Master's Courses; mark of 70%, with at least 65% in each of the subtests in UCL Pre-sessional English Courses.
