Course Introduction

The UCL Eastman Dental Institute offers the possibility for suitable candidates to carry out an MPhil research programme (three-year full-time or five-year part-time). All new students are registered through the newly created UCL Eastman Dental Institute Centre for Postgraduate Research (UCL ECPgR) at the UCL Eastman Dental Institute. UCL Eastman Dental Institute is a world-leading, academic centre for postgraduate dentistry and translational research based in central London. The institute offers an extensive range of high-quality study opportunities including Master's degrees, speciality training, certificates, diplomas, research-informed degrees and CPD courses. It is also a world-class research centre offering a range of doctorates. Qualifications required:

  • Domestic entry requirements: Students need to have a minimum of an upper second-class UK Bachelor?s degree in an appropriate subject, or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard, or a recognised MRes or Master?s degree. All prospective applicants, except those applying for advertised studentships, are encouraged to send an informal research enquiry. Making a research enquiry helps define their interests, contributes to making their application successful, and also serves to ensure the identification of the best possible supervisor for their needs.
  • International entry requirements: Students need to have: IELTS overall grade of 7.0 with a minimum of 6.5 in each of the subtests; overall score of 100 with 24/30 in reading and writing and 20/30 in speaking and listening in Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL) iBT; overall score of 185 with 176 in all subtests in Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English; overall score of 185 with 176 in all subtests in Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English; pass at Mastery level when achieved with a pass at Mastery level in the Pitman International Spoken test (ISESOL) in City & Guilds (Pitman Examination in International ESOL); 69 overall, with a minimum of 59 in each Communicative Skill in Pearson Test of English (Academic); successful completion of ISE III with a ?merit? in all components; overall mark of 70%, with at least 65% in each of the four subtests in UCL Diploma in English for Academic Purposes; overall mark of 70% with at least 65% in each of the four elements of the examination in UCL International Pre-Master's Courses; mark of 70%, with at least 65% in each of the subtests in UCL Pre-sessional English Courses.
