Course Introduction

The Clinical Dermatology MSc is an advanced study programme for medical graduates who wish to undertake a period of postgraduate study in dermatology. You will gain comprehensive knowledge and understanding of dermatological diseases and enhance your skills and knowledge of the scientific basis of clinical dermatology. The study pathway also includes a critical evaluation of dermatological literature on a specialist subject. The course includes teaching in a diverse range of clinical and dermapathology sessions. Internationally renowned clinicians and academics providing an unparalleled inter-professional learning experience in a multi-faculty environment. You will attend weekly and monthly clinical seminars in St Thomas? and Guys hospitals as well as participating in a variety of short courses and conferences.

The Clinical Dermatology MSc will provide you with the opportunities to develop and demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of dermatological diseases. The study pathway is made up of a combination of observing clinical sessions, histopathology glass slides teaching sessions, lectures, dedicated workshops, seminars and conferences by members of the faculty as well as invited prominent speakers, creating a demanding and stimulating learning experience.

Our graduates have found employment in senior hospital posts and private practice overseas. Some of our graduates have pursued further higher qualifications and Foundation Programmes and Specialist Training in Dermatology in the UK.

Qualifications required:

  • Domestic entry requirements: Students should have a medical qualification from a recognised university and current clinical experience of either 6?12 months in dermatology or 3?4 years practising medicine at post-registration level.
  • International entry requirements: Students can demonstrate their English Language Proficiency with any of the following tests and grades: IELTS (Academic): 6.5 overall with a minimum of 6.0 in each skill; TOEFL IBT: 92 overall, with a minimum 23 in each skill; Cambridge Advanced Certificate (CAE): 176 overall with a minimum of 169 in each skill; Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): 176 overall with a minimum of 169 in each skill; Pearson Test of English (Academic): 62 overall, with a minimum of 52 in each skill. The tests listed above are valid if they have been taken within the past two years.
