<b> <u>About the course </b> </u> <p>

This course is for those with a broad interest in education, enabling you to undertake a high'level, critical evaluation of educational theory and practice. It is available either as the Education MA or the Education MA with a specialism in Leadership and Management; Science, Technology and Maths (STEM) Education; or Social Justice, Equity and Inclusion. <p>

We provide a flexible structure so you’ll cover a range of core and specialist modules tailored to your specialism. If you decide not to select a specialism, you can select the modules that most interest you. <p>

Education MA students will be encouraged to enhance their career opportunities and capacity for employment in professional environments. <p>

International students will be able to tailor their studies to their own national context. <p>

<u> <b>Teaching and learning </u> </b> <p>

The delivery of the course supports your progression in a way that is designed to suit the needs of busy professionals. You’ll learn through lectures, group work, seminars and tutorials, as well as through our virtual learning environment Blackboard Learn. <p>

Seminars and practical workshop sessions provide smaller group contact and the opportunity to review and debate topics. <p>

You’ll be assessed by your written assignments, oral presentations, poster presentations, evidence'based portfolios, research and development projects and dissertations.<p>

Qualifications required:

  • A UK second class (2:2) Honours degree or equivalent internationally recognised qualification. Relevant professional experience is desirable. Associate students who register for individual modules may progress to the Master's course by successfully completing 4 modules. Applicants will be required to attend an interview. Entry criteria are subject to change. English language requirements: IELTS: 7 (min 6 in all areas); Pearson: 64 (51 in all subscores); BrunELT: 70 per cent (min 60 per cent in all areas).
