Course Introduction

The Advanced Engineering Design MSc is for high'calibre, ambitious engineering or science graduates who wish to gain expertise in developing complex, multidisciplinary engineering design.

You will learn how to design products requiring embedded intelligence and comprehensive engineering analysis. You’ll also have available six computer aided engineering software packages.

The Design Experience module gives you experience in the whole design process in an industrial environment – from initial concept to final design and manufacture.

The course is delivered through lectures, workshops, self'study and individual and group project work.

You’ll be assessed on your written assignments, presentations, examinations and a major dissertation project.

Qualifications required:

  • UK 1st or 2nd Class Honours degree or equivalent internationally recognised qualification in engineering or appropriate science and technology discipline. English language requirements: IELTS: 6 (min 5.5 in all areas); Pearson: 51 (51 in all subscores); BrunELT: 60 per cent (min 55 per cent in all areas).
