Course Introduction

This course will equip you with the skills for a range of professional careers in entertainment and media law. A qualifying Law degree, this course is the 1st step to becoming a solicitor or barrister; however it does not restrict your career choices in other fields of law.

Course Modules

Year 1: Public law; Law of torts; Law of contract; Public and EU law; Introduction to contract and tort; Legal skills, legal study, legal system (including Level 1 induction). Year 2: Property, equity and trusts 1; EU rights; Criminal law 1; Working in the law; Criminal law 2 and the law of criminal evidence; Regulatory principles of entertainment and media law. Year 3: Property, equity and trusts 2; Entertainment and media law; Project (entertainment and media law); Land law; Employment law. Plus one option from: Civil litigation, Civil rights and the state; Company law; Mediation and negotiation skills; Sports law; European human rights; Business law.
