Course Introduction

Human nutrition science involves understanding the molecular and physiological basis of the relationship between diet, human health and

well-being. It’s a multidisciplinary subject, so you’ll study human health and well-being from a diverse range of scientific perspectives with nutrition as the central theme.

Course Modules

Year 1: Scientific skills (double credit); (Bio) molecules (double credit); Physiology and nutrition (double credit); Foodology (double credit). Year 2: Research methods (double credit); Metabolism and molecular biology (double credit); Human evolution, physiology and behaviour (double credit); Human nutrition; Public health. Year 3: Optional placement year. Year 3/4: Project (double credit); Social aspects of science (single credit); Clinical nutrition (single credit); Applied topics in human nutrition (single credit); Biology of disease (double credit); Option.
