This course also meets the requirements for Further Learning for a Chartered Engineer (CEng), for students with the right undergraduate qualifications.

Course Modules

Modules include: Hydraulic structures, coastal and river engineering; engineering management and project organisation; soil structure engineering; design in steel and concrete; advanced structural analysis; highway engineering; transportation engineering; structural dynamics and earthquake engineering; design in timber and masonry; research dissertation.

Qualifications required:

  • BEng (Hons) 2.2 or BSc (Hons) 2.1 in civil engineering, and appropriate professional qualifications such as MICE or MIStructE. For the PgDip: BEng (Hons) 3rd or BSc (Hons) 2.2 in civil engineering; applicants with other qualifications considered individually. IELTs 6.0 overall with 6.0 writing and speaking 5.5 reading and listening.
