Electrical and Electronic Engineering

Course Introduction

On this course you’ll gain a strong understanding of design techniques for electronics systems, as well as their use in areas such as control,

telecommunications and consumer products. You’ll also use the latest computer-interfacing technologies in our National Instruments Laboratory. There’s the option to work in an industry placement for a year too, potentially in Germany, with the chance to study German at our partner institution, Hochschule Bremen.

Digital logic design;

Design and practice;

Engineering principles;

Year 2:

Advanced engineering mathematics and modelling;

Circuits, signals and systems;

Principles of control;

Analogue electronics;

Embedded software design;

Professional practice and team design project;

Year 3: Optional placement year.

Year 4:

Renewable energy engineering;

Communication systems and wireless technologies;

Biomedical electronics;

Embedded systems and the Internet of Things;
