Course Introduction

The Art History with Creative Writing BA will allow you to study the full range of artistic expression and hone your writing skills. The programme combines cultural surveys with more intense, media-specific subjects including architecture, landscape and painting. Through your Creative Writing minor, you’ll develop the tools to approach a broad range of literary forms from a creative and critical perspective, from short fiction to immersive journalism, poetry, and scriptwriting.

This three-year course will explore the production and reception of art across a wide geographical and chronological span. It will look at traditional areas such as Italian Renaissance sculpture, French Modernist paintings and Western architecture after 1851; and it will engage in-depth with Byzantine, Islamic and North American Culture.
