Course Introduction

This specialist business course will enable you to develop your entrepreneurial skills and prepare you to start up and grow your own micro-enterprise or small

or medium business. You will study modules on business processes, economics for business, organisation behaviour, business planning and development, fundamentals of entrepreneurship, innovation in competitive environments, business ethics and social responsibility, small business development, e-business, and strategy For managers. You will also undertake a business creation project.

You will be encouraged to enter our business-planning competition, which rewards student entrepreneurship and innovation with prizes of investment capital. Previous winners received a prize of £5,000 for their idea of developing an enterprise and study hub. You will be linked with a mentor through our employer networks to support you in developing your business plan. Graduates with credible business ideas are also supported to develop their business.

Graduates from this course will be equipped to develop and run their own businesses as entrepreneurs. Other career options include general management, corporate entrepreneurship, management consultancy and small-business management.

Year 1
