This computing course develops the knowledge and skills appropriate for employment as computing and IT professionals. It provides opportunities to study areas to current industry standards and is constantly being updated to cover new developments.
The course reflects current trends and skills needed in the sector. It covers all the main branches of computing including programming using Java and C#, internet technologies, network systems, communication systems, UML in systems building and the use of SQL in database development. It also includes an element of work-based learning which allows students to engage with an employer and add to their career development.
The aims of the course are:
* To enable you to study areas to current industry standards
* To provide a constantly updated course covering new industry developments
* To provide awareness of current trends and provision of forecasts skills needs in the sector.
* On completion of the Foundation Degree, students can fast track to the third year of the BSc degree in computing at the University of Greenwich or pursue employment in the IT industry.
