Course Introduction

The Art History with Law BA will allow you to follow your passions and prepare for your career. The Art History major gives you the opportunity to see and interpret moments in history through their architecture and material culture. The course combines cultural surveys with more intense, media-specific subjects including architecture, landscape and painting. For your Law minor, you will study key issues in Law thematically, allowing you to develop commercial awareness highly valued by a range of employers.

This three-year course will explore the production and reception of art across a wide geographical and chronological span. It will look at traditional areas such as Italian Renaissance sculpture, French Modernist paintings and Western architecture after 1851; and it will engage in-depth with Byzantine, Islamic and North American Culture.
