Course Introduction

Studying a blend of architecture and civil engineering modules, you’ll explore the form and appearance of buildings and their environmental impact, as well as their analysis, design and construction. You’ll build architectural skills through studio work, project presentations and an extensive structural design project. There’s also the option to spend a

sandwich year working in an industry placement.

Year 1: Design and practice; Engineering mathematics and modelling; Engineering principles; Architectural engineering design principles with structures. Year 2: Strength of materials; Design of structural elements; Geotechnics 1; 3D CAD and building information modelling; Architectural design procedures; Architectural engineering field studies project. Year 3: Project; Structural analysis and structural design; Forensic engineering and conservation; Innovation and enterprise; Geotechnics 2; Architectural engineering design project.
