Film Studies

Course Introduction

For film lovers, here is your opportunity to immerse yourself in the history and research of the film making industries. You will trace the medium from its birth in 1895 all the way to the impact of contemporary digital technologies.

You will learn about film making in the UK, Hollywood and around the world. You will develop written and practical research skills, leading to a choice of final year project – either a written dissertation or a research-focused public exhibit.
