Why Royal Veterinary College?

Founded in 1791, the Royal Veterinary College (RVC) is part of the University of London.

The RVC offers an outstanding learning environment designed to produce practising veterinary surgeons, bioveterinary scientists and veterinary nurses.

The college has two campuses. The London campus is situated in buzzing Camden, home to ZSL London Zoo, Regent's Park and the Jazz Cafe. The Hertfordshire campus is a short train journey from central London.

The RVC has an excellent international reputation for groundbreaking research in veterinary and biological science. As an RVC student, you will develop problem-solving skills and benefit from the findings of experts in their fields.

Biosciences at the RVC tops rankings for careers and student satisfaction in the Guardian's University Guide 2013.

Students have excellent career prospects as the college has a graduate employment rate of 99 per cent.

International Students

The RVC has an international reputation, attracting staff and students from around the world.

A special induction programme for international students takes place at the start of every academic year.

Ongoing support will be provided by your tutors and the student support team.

A degree from the Royal Veterinary College is internationally recognised as a mark of outstanding quality.

The RVC is the only English veterinary school (and one of only four in Europe) accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association, which allows its veterinary medicine graduates to practice in both the EU and North America.

The Students' Union organises social events every year, including May and Christmas balls. Students can also enjoy a diverse range of sports, from badminton to wakeboarding. Also on offer are language and arts classes.

What Students Say:

"One thing I love about my course is the variety. It's an interesting mix of labs, seminars, dissections, lectures and individual research – with the odd trip to a museum thrown in. Having facilities at two very different campuses is also great. Plus, it's a relatively small class – only 60 in our year – so everyone really bonds and supports each other. This also means that the ratio of students to lecturers and supervisors is excellent. The high standard of education at the RVC helped me to develop countless transferable skills that are essential for a high-pressured job."
