Why Royal Central School of Speech and Drama?

Royal Central School of Speech & Drama is one of the oldest established drama schools in the UK and is a college of the University of London.

Located in Swiss Cottage in the London Borough of Camden, the university is within easy reach of theatres, bars, restaurants and art galleries.

The university offers the largest range of drama, theatre and performance-related degree programmes in Europe. Courses include puppetry, musical theatre, actor training and writing for stage and broadcast media.

Facilities include a 234-seat theatre, performance studios, music practice rooms, video-editing suites, object and puppetry studio, a sound recording studio, props and scenic construction workshop.

National and international companies provide placement opportunities for students. Many students get their first professional jobs through the contacts they have made during their studies.

Student Testimonials

"The calibre of people we had the pleasure of working with was magnificent and they are wonderful contacts to have out in the acting world."

"The structure in which students learn here allows you to work in an environment as close to the industry as possible, whilst still being within an educational institute."

"We were encouraged 100 % to try new things – it could be tailoring or a prop costume – we are always supported. Being able to go on placements means learning new skills, meeting all sorts of professionals and lets you discover what you like and what you don’t like."
