Bringing your family with you when studying

International students can currently only bring their family with them if they are studying a course for longer than 6 months at degree level (including foundation degrees) or above.

UPDATE: From April 2012, only postgraduate students will be able to bring their families with them. Please see the UK's new visa rules for more information.

If you decide to bring your family with you when studying in London, it is very important you plan and prepare for their move to the UK.

In addition to ensuring you have the required funds and visas, you will also need to arrange accommodation, school/nursery and work opportunities for your family.
