UK student Visa information

It is important that you research the student visa requirements necessary for studying in the UK. There are a variety of eligibility criteria and the length of your stay depends on the type of course you are studying.

Eligibility is calculated using the new UK visa points-based system. You need 40 points to apply for a student visa. This is achieved by studying at a UK Visa approved university or education provider.

You also need to provide proof of having enough money to pay for your course and monthly living costs.

Student testimonial

Sharmil M Kasagga

Accounting and Business Management

"I would recommend London as the best place to study because it has many universities and institutes which make it easier to carry out research while doing your coursework. My favourite thing in London is the social life. There are many cinemas, clubs and pubs to go to and tourist attractions as well - my favourite being the London Transport Museum in Covent Garden."

Top Tip: Going to a club in Leicester Square and getting the night bus home - it's quick and easy.
