Ronnie Warrington & Jason Schone Scholarships in Law for Doctoral (PhD) Students

What is the value of the scholarship?

The scholarship will contribute to university tuition fees at the EU/home student rate. For overseas students, a contribution equivalent to the home fees will be made towards the relevant student fee. Full-time students may also apply for a contribution towards living costs.

Who can apply?

Birkbeck welcomes applications for the studentships in all core areas of their law curriculum. A strong interest in legal theory, socio-legal approaches and to interdisciplinary research is an advantage.

There are two 3-year studentships. The first commemorates the contribution of Dr Ronnie Warrington who helped establish Birkbeck’s Law School. In 2007, a new award was announced in memory of Dr Jason Schone, one of the Law School’s first PhD students.

How do I apply?

If you are applying for the Ronnie Warrington/Jason Schone Studentships you must apply for admission to the School of Law at the same time. Shortlisted applicants will be invited for interview.

When can I apply?

Between December to May each year.
