The new BA in Film Production aims to develop the creative, practical, technical, cultural and interpersonal knowledge and skills associated with professional film production. Combining the production and theory of visual digital media, it is the perfect starting point for those interested in pursuing the career in Film, TV, Communications or Media.
You’ll learn and develop skills in key areas of contemporary film production. Everything from cinematography to post'production will make up part of your degree programme; ensuring graduates are prepared and proficient for work across the creative industries. The course will also provide an in'depth focus on film and media as a means of social and political engagement, providing a well'rounded insight into the world of Film Production.
With the Professional Development option, the new Film Production BA will work closely with a number of established employers in the film and television sector. This will give you the opportunity to hear from and network with industry professionals through a variety of workshops and talks as well as strong placement links.
Lectures and seminars will make up part of the course; however a large part will be practice'driven, working in our world class editing suites.

Year 2: Advanced Filmmaking; Understanding the Film and TV Industry; Screenwriting; World Cinemas, Television: Texts/Contexts; Film/TV Genres; World Cinemas. Year 3: Dissertation Film: Image and Violence; OR Digital Media Project; Work Experience; Horror: Independent and Art Cinema; Horror, Gender and Sexuality.
