Course Introduction

This programme will give you a strong grounding in core disciplines of accounting and finance. It aims to provide the theoretical frameworks and practical skills to become an effective accountant. You will learn how accounting and financial information is used for decision making and how it integrates with the wider business environment. Throughout your studies you will follow a highly international curriculum which will be relevant to both home and international students.

Course Modules

Compulsory modules: Accounting for performance and control; international financial accounting and reporting; business English for academic purposes; research methods; foundations of scholarship; dissertation (postgraduate accounting and finance suite); principles of finance. Optional modules: Financial analysis and valuation; corporate governance, assurance and audit; project finance.

Qualifications required:

  • A a relevant undergraduate degree at 2.2 or above, or equivalent qualification, from a recognised university or higher education institute. If you were educated in a language other than English or in a country where English speakers are in a minority, you should have a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 (with a minimum of 5.5 in each skill) or equivalent. If you require a Tier 4 (General) student visa to study in the UK, your score must be from a UK Visas and Immigration approved IELTS test.
