Course Introduction
The world of information systems can be exciting and rewarding, as businesses become more reliant on information systems to support innovation, decision making and operations. This course develops your understanding of the business challenges of an enterprise, and your ability to conceive and manage ICT'dependent solutions. Successful enterprises require managers and analysts who can evaluate and use the tools, and provide key insights and sound direction for strategic business planning.
Course Modules
The first year core modules cover programming, business maths, web design and development, computer science practice, business information system (BIS) concepts, and modelling user and system requirements. In the second year you study three core subjects β BIS development and design, IT security, and a group project β and choose two more options from subjects including database systems, client'side or server'side web development, and business analytics, or a Level 5 Westminster elective from across the University. In your final year, alongside your project, you will study strategic management of information systems, and information'driven entrepreneurship and enterprises, and two final options from subjects including business intelligence, mobile user experience, security and forensics, and digital marketing, social media and web analytics, or a Level 6 Westminster elective.
