This course will equip you with the skills for a range of professional careers in family and child law. A qualifying Law degree, this course is the first step to becoming a solicitor or barrister; however it does not restrict your career choices in other fields of law.

Year 2 • Property, equity and trusts 1 • Criminal law 1 • EU rights • Criminal law 2 and the law of criminal evidence • Working in the law. One option from: • Gender, justice and the law • Alternative dispute resolution: theory and practice • Medical law and ethics • Law and politics. Year 3 • Property, equity and trusts 2 • Relationships and their financial consequences • Project (family law) • Land law • Law in relation to children. Plus one option from: • Civil litigation • Criminal litigation in context (CILEx) • Analysis of evidence and proof • Mediation and negotiation skills • European human rights • International protection of human rights
