Course Modules

First'year core subjects include cell biology, biochemistry, human physiology, applications of biological sciences, and the history, philosophy and practice of science; you will also choose an option module from pharmacology, biological chemistry, or an elective module from across the University. In Year 2 you will study three core subjects – research methods, metabolic biochemistry and contemporary global issues – and choose three options from a wide range of subjects including bioinformatics, molecular biology and genetics, physiological networks, pharmacology, the microbial world, urban living and the environment, or a Westminster elective. Final'year core modules are your research project and designing a sustainable world; you again choose three options from subjects including proteins and enzymes, pharmacology and toxicology, neuroscience, global ethics, molecular biology, applied biotechnology, cancer biology, advanced cell biology, work experience, or a Westminster elective.
