Course Introduction

This broadly based course covers the areas of computer science, software development and information systems, providing an excellent basis for a rapidly changing environment. The key aspects of this course are its flexibility and the ability for you to build a customised route within computer science. You will be able to follow recommended pathways in a range of computing areas that suit your developing interests.

Course Modules

The first year core modules cover programming, web design and development, computer science practice, computer systems fundamentals, and maths for computing. In the second year you study core modules covering object'oriented programming, client'server architectures, database systems and a software development group project. In your final year you will study core modules on security and forensics, and enterprise application development, and complete your computer science project. During both years you will be able to choose either two or three modules from five specialist pathways – mobile and web computing, games and computer graphics, software engineering, multimedia computing, and business information systems.
