Accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) The Diploma in Management Studies (DMS), is designed for those managers who want to develop and accredit their professional competence and knowledge base.
The usual route to the DMS is via the Postgraduate Certificate in Management or through the possession of an equivalent qualification such as the Chartered Management Institute's level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership, or a masters in another discipline.
On successful completion of the DMS students can proceed to MPA or MBA with accreditation of prior learning against four units. Students progressing on the Executive MPA will be eligible for a fee discount.
Modules: Management and leadership; strategic human resource management; enterprise and business planning; projects and operations management.

- Applicants should be in management roles with responsibility for a team of staff and/or for managing outcomes and functions. Typically students on this course will therefore have had several years in a management or supervisory role.
- The students usually come from a range of sectors and sizes of organisations; this is a positive benefit in allowing learning and comparison of sometimes vastly different organisational practice. The same issues apply to DMS applicants with the entry requirements referred to above.
- Certificate in Management or equivalent (including the Chartered Management Institute's level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership).
- Alternatively, a masters qualification and a minimum of two years experience as a supervisor may be accepted.
