The Art History with Law BA will allow you to follow your passions and prepare for your career. The Art History major gives you the opportunity to see and interpret moments in history through their architecture and material culture. The course combines cultural surveys with more intense, media'specific subjects including architecture, landscape and painting. For your Law minor, you will study key issues in Law thematically, allowing you to develop commercial awareness highly valued by a range of employers.
In your first year: Art History major: The Art of the Byzantine World (30 credits) and The Art of the Islamic World (30 credits) and Introduction to Art History (30 credits); Law minor: English Legal System (30 credits);
In your second year: Art History major: European Painting: Chardin to Matisse (30 credits) and The Industry of Art: Renaissance & Baroque Patrons, Artists, Objects & Consumers (30 credits), plus The Elegiac Landscape (30 credits) or The City in Contemporary History (30 credits); Law minor: Law of Tort (30 credits);
In your third year: Art History major: Dissertation (30 credits) and Modern Architecture: 1851 to the present (30 credits), plus Ceramics from Asia (30 credits) or Masters of America (30 credits); Law minor: Law of the European Union (30 credits)
