Course Introduction

Our Cognitive Behavioural Therapies (CBT) course provides practical, intensive and detailed training to equip you with the necessary skills to become an independent CBT practitioner in accordance with the BABCP guidelines. You will work in Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) services and train in evidence'based CBT for adults with depression and anxiety disorders.

Qualifications required:

  • A professional mental health qualification (e.g. clinical psychologist, RMN) or other relevant professions (e.g. counselling, social work) with relevant postgraduate clinical experience; preference is given to candidates with demonstrable experience in systematic therapies with a commitment to the CBT approach; access to suitable CBT training cases, i.e. straightforward depression and anxiety, is compulsory.
