This highly flexible course is designed both for students who want to obtain a general knowledge of business studies and students who want to focus on one of the main business disciplines. In the second year you choose to either remain on the BSc Business or opt to specialise with a pathway, while also developing core skills in fundamental business management. Business is life and the study of business is valued by employers.
We take a genuinely interdisciplinary approach to the subject, offering you an innovative way of learning about topics that cannot be pigeonholed into one particular area. Because our students come from such a variety of backgrounds and range in age and experience, you will find our class discussions a stimulating arena in which to explore new ideas and topics.
You can choose between a general BSc Business degree or BSc Business and a pathway in either accounting, management, human resource management, information systems, French, German or Spanish, or marketing.
This programme attracts students from both the public and private sectors, including administrators, clerical workers and managers, as well as the self'employed. Because it is taught entirely by evening study, you are able to combine your academic studies with daytime commitments.
The majority of our students work or care for a family, so you will be learning with people from a wide range of backgrounds and with a wide range of experiences. This creates a stimulating and supportive learning environment. Our tutorial/seminar sessions give you a chance to interact with your peers and develop insights into analysing and interpreting a wide and varied subject matter.
We engage in significant collaborative research and have excellent contacts with many public and private sector organisations, professional bodies and researchers at other academic institutions.
This course is also available for full'time and part'time evening study in central London and Stratford.
In addition to compulsory modules, you also take option modules ' which may include other approved business modules offered by the School of Business, Economics and Informatics ' and a research project.
For the BSc Business, you take 105 credits of option modules in Year 2 and 60 credits in Year 3, and undertake a research project in Year 3.
