Course Introduction

The learning and teaching environment for potential PhD degrees is underpinned by the six inter'disciplinary research centres based in the University. Students will be encouraged to get involved with the activities of the centres and to attend the relevant seminars. Qualifications required:

  • You will generally need to hold an honours degree at 2:1 level or above (or international equivalent) in an appropriate subject. A higher degree such as a master’s may be required. Applicants for whom English is not their first language will need to demonstrate that they meet the minimum English language requirement of IELTS at 7.0 and no component less than 6.5 (or equivalent).
