Course Introduction

This course will: equip you with the theoretical and conceptual tools and empirical evidence necessary for understanding social policy and policymaking processes; increase your knowledge and understanding of contemporary developments in social policy, at national and international level; take an informed, critical approach to studying the role of research evidence in policy processes; provide training in social science research methods relevant to people working in a policy or academic context; develop your theoretical, methodological and analytical social research skills to enable you to critique existing research and to pursue your own enquiries.

Course Additional Entry

A good first degree in social science or social policy. If you do not meet these requirement, you may be able to qualify through special procedures.
