Course Introduction

This course provides the opportunity to: discuss and debate issues related to Applied Linguistics and English language education with MA students and staff in the LinE group; explore the interface between theory and practice; discuss your ongoing work, and receive feedback on drafts of assessed work; reflect on your own work and study in the light of current theory and research in Applied Linguistics and in English language education; plan new possibilities for professional activity in the future.

Course Modules

Modules include: Sociolinguistic and sociocultural perspectives on language education; theories of language acquisition; plus optional modules.

Course Additional Entry

A first degree in a relevant subject or equivalent, and IELTS 7.0 or equivalent if English is not your first language. Candidates do not require teaching experience, but should have a good academic record and be able to demonstrate relevant interest in Applied Linguistics and English language education.
