Course Introduction

Based within our Faculty of Science and Technology, our research into pharmacology, toxicology and pharmacy involves experienced and research'active staff who work in close collaboration with the bio'industry, NHS and other research institutions within the UK, Europe and the US. Our facilities at the Cavendish Campus are equipped with state of the art instrumentation. Our research focuses on a range of areas including: the use of biomarkers to guide drug development and target medicines toward specific populations; identification and development of new therapeutic approaches to disease; and the detection of disease & pathogens, genomics and epidemiology.

Course Additional Entry

You will need: a minimum classification of 2.1 in a 1st degree (or equivalent); and, preferably, a Master's degree (or Master's degree pending); and (if English is not your 1st language). Appropriate English language qualifications (you will normally be required to achieve minimum IELTS scores of 6.5 or equivalent). You will also need to have the commitment and motivation to undertake a sustained programme of independent and self'directed study and training as a researcher.
