Course Introduction

Based within our Faculty of Science and Technology, our research in Electronic Engineering is focused around a number of thematic clusters including: Electronic and Communication Engineering working on systems analysis; applied DSP and VLSI; wireless communications; and communications and compunetics. Semantic Computing and Systems Engineering which incorporates the Semantic Computing and Computer Vision and Imaging groups. Much of our work has an applied focus, with real'world impact. Our teaching and research are closely linked, so that students are able to learn from leading researchers in the field and our campus facilities are equipped with state of the art instrumentation.

Course Additional Entry

A minimum classification of 2.1 in a first degree (or equivalent); and, preferably, a Masters degree (or Masters degree pending); and (if English is not your first language). Appropriate English Language qualifications (you will normally be required to achieve minimum IELTS scores of 6.5 or equivalent). You will also need to have the commitment and motivation to undertake a sustained programme of independent and self'directed study and training as a researcher.
