Well'trained clinical technicians are increasingly in demand, due to an ageing population and an increase in the amount of people needing special seating, orthotics and prosthetic devices. They are responsible for maintaining, monitoring and sometimes operating the high'tech equipment and instruments used to treat patients and to diagnose illness. FdSc Clinical Technology is designed to assist those already employed as a clinical technician to further their careers, by preparing students for promotion and new career opportunities within their chosen technical area, including special seating, prosthetics and orthotics. This is done by broadening and extending the experiences they have already gained in the work place.
