The multidisciplinary research aims to develop intelligent automated and robotic systems for the non'destructive testing and inspection of large critical infrastructure, often located in remote and hazardous environments. The department researches and develops wall climbing, swimming, pipe crawling and mobile robots to deploys a range of NDT techniques for industrial inspection in the nuclear, petro'chemical, food processing, energy and aviation industries.
Course Additional Entry
Applicants are expected to have a good Honours degree. If applicants have the equivalent of a lower 2nd or 3rd Class Honours they would also need a Postgraduate qualification at Master's level. Applicants will also be required to show proof of all of their qualifications. If English is not an applicant's 1st language they will be expected to prove their competency in English, showing an IELTS score of at least 7.0 at postgraduate level.
