This course focuses on the area where nanotechnology and photonics meet, delivering the manipulation and control of light on the nanoscale, and training students in an exciting new field.
Modules include: mathematical techniques; advanced classical physics; plasmonics and metamaterials; advanced topics in nanophotonics; imaging. Project work: research skills training; self'study project; literature review and project plan; supervised research project.
Course Additional Entry
A 1st Class (1st) Honours degree in physics. Applicants with degrees in other scientific disciplines e.g. engineering, chemistry, mathematics may be considered.
