This course aims to produce graduates with qualities and transferable skills for demanding employment in the engineering sector. Graduates will have the independent learning ability required for continuing professional development and acquiring new skills at the highest level. Students may elect to follow 1 of 2 streams: thermofluids or solid body mechanics.
Modules include: strategic management, innovation and enterprise; research methods and sustainable engineering; advanced modelling and design; computer aided engineering 1; dissertation. Optional modules: advanced thermofluids; advanced heat and mass transfer; energy conversion technologies; energy conversion technologies; renewable energy technologies; advanced solid body mechanics; dynamics and modal analysis; structural design and FEA; human factors in design.
Course Additional Entry
A UK 1st or 2nd Class Honours degree or equivalent internationally recognised qualification in an engineering or technology discipline. Other subjects in a related discipline, including but not limited to physics and mathematics will be considered and assessed on an individual basis. English Language Requirements: IELTS: 6 (min 5.5 in all areas); Pearson: 51 (51 in all subscores); BrunELT: 60% (min 55% in all areas).
