Course Introduction

As a student on the MMath in Financial Mathematics you will learn about a wide range of practical and modern applications of financial mathematics. The knowledge and skills that you will acquire during the programme are highly valued by employers and will form a sound background for further postgraduate study. The programme will provide a strong grounding in advanced mathematical concepts and mathematical thinking and will cover many modern applications of financial mathematics e.g. risk modelling, actuarial science, and derivatives pricing. You will undertake individual and group research projects. These will be excellent preparation for a career in finance or for further research. Your problem solving and analytical skills will be developed at all stages of the programme. Furthermore, our active focus on employability will assist you in acquiring important communication and team working skills.
