Course Introduction

The course combines theoretical understanding of the policy process with advanced methodologically focused training, providing students with the knowledge and skills needed to work efficiently in increasingly complex and challenging policy contexts.

Course Modules

Core modules: social policy: theory, practice and research. Options: students can select from a wide range of modules, including: impact evaluation methods; methods for research synthesis; minorities, migrants and refugees in European education; promoting health and wellbeing: planning, practice and participation; understanding education policy; note: students must take at least one research module.

Course Additional Entry

A minimum of a 2nd class Honours degree from a UK university or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard in a social science subject, such as sociology, psychology, social policy of history. If you do not meet these requirements, other considerations, such as relevant work experience, may be taken into account.
